The Reds defeated the Championship club in a behind-closed-doors fixture played at the AXA Training Centre on Sunday lunchtime.
Darwin Nunez provided each of the opening three goals for the hosts before the 20-minute mark, and Rio Ngumoha increased the lead to four ahead of half-time.
Late on, Federico Chiesa converted from close range to conclude the scoring.
