There was a star-studded field in action on Wednesday morning as the Irish Open got underway with the traditional pre-tournament Pro-Am at the K Club.
Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington are the headline names in the field for this weekend’s Open, and all three were in action on Wednesday.

They were joined by some of the most famous names in Irish sport, with All-Ireland winners in the Clifford brothers and Ronan Maher teeing off.
Two World Rugby Players of the Year were among the field, too, with Johnny Sexton and Josh van der Flier joined by fellow rugby heroes Tommy Bowe and Dan Sheehan.

There were also plenty of recognisable faces from the world of golf in action.
Several of the stars who will be involved in the Ryder Cup later this month are competing in this weekend’s Irish Open, and Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton, Brooks Koepka, and Luke Donald were all pictured in action on Wednesday morning.
