Anat Angerst, mother of kidnapped soldier Matan Angerst, responded to Minister Orit Strook’s statement that “efforts should be made to avoid harm to hostages but that might be the outcome,” writing on X: “Minister Strook is willing to sacrifice my child, an IDF soldier who was kidnapped while going out to defend the country and her.” Vicki Cohen, mother of kidnapped soldier Nimrod Cohen, also responded on X: “Minister Strook, I heard you want to give up on my child and leave him in Gaza forever. As a mother to a mother, do you have the courage to stand in front of me and tell me that?”
