DART and commuter services are suspended between Lansdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire stations due to damage to overhead electrical lines.
Iarnród Éireann said services will be affected for a number of hours and added its crews are working to repair the issue.
It said services are operating between Howth/Malahide and Lansdowne Road and also Dún Laoghaire and Bray/Greystones.
Iarnród Éireann added that Dublin Bus is honouring rail tickets.
