On Saturday, July 19, 2025, Maura passed away peacefully in University Hospital Galway surrounded by her loving family. Maura will be forever missed by her devoted husband Greg of 52 years, her sons, Paul, Mark and Conor, daughters-in-law, Geraldine, Carol and Elaine, her adored grandchildren, Adam, Shaun and Emily. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph (Joe) and Elizabeth (Lizzy) and her brothers Joe (Junior) and Tony.
Maura will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her sisters Noreena Moore, Bridget Glavin, Ann Blake and Frances Smyth. Always remembered also by her sisters-in-law Kay and Mary, the extended Tighe and Foley family and by her many friends and neighbours.
Special thanks to all the staff of the Knockash Suite in St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit in Loughrea who provided exceptional care for Maura over the past five years and to the staff in Accident and Emergency, and St. Enda’s Ward at University Hospital Galway who went above and beyond to make Maura comfortable in her final days.
