A freight handler has been killed at Sydney Airport.

The man in his 40s was struck by a vehicle at the freight handling terminal about 10.30am on Sunday.

Paramedics treated him at the terminal, but he could not be saved.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

“Everyone at Sydney Airport is deeply saddened by the fatal incident involving an airfreight worker earlier this morning,” a Sydney Airport spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.“Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

“Sydney Airport has made its support services available to all staff across the airport precinct.“We are working to support the airline and relevant authorities as they investigate the incident.”

WorkSafe NSW have been notified.

7NEWS.com.au understands that there has been no impact on passenger operations at the airport as a result of the incident.
