RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Several lucky ticket holders in Virginia are going home with big winnings after securing a prize in Saturday Night’s Powerball drawing.
The winning numbers were 11-23-44-61-62, with the Powerball being 17. Two tickets across the country matched all six numbers, splitting the jackpot. These tickets were purchased in Missouri and Texas. Even though no tickets in Virginia matched all six numbers, Virginia still won big.
According to Virginia Lottery officials, an estimated $29.6 million in profit was earned from Saturday night’s $1.8 billion drawing. By law, all of that profit goes to K-12 public education in the Commonwealth.
The school system is not the only winner here; more than 266,000 Virginia Powerball tickets won prizes, including five tickets that each won $100,000 and four tickets that each won $50,000.

The jackpot is now $20 million for Monday’s drawing. Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Prizes range from $2 up to the jackpot.
The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 25. You must be at least 18 years old to play Virginia Lottery games.
