Latest Liverpool news as the Reds prepare for their Premier League return against Burnley next weekend

Liverpool will not have much longer to wait for their return to Premier League action after the international break. The Reds are continuing their quest to defend their league title and are the only club in the top flight with a 100 per cent record after three fixtures.
Arne Slot’s side claimed victories over Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Arsenal in the first weeks of the new season. Next up for Liverpool is an away trip to Burnley on September 14, which could see a debut handed to a new signing.
Alexander Isak signed for Liverpool on deadline day in a deal worth £125million. Whether the striker will be able to make his debut for the Reds at Turf Moor remains to be seen, with Isak being an unused substitute in Sweden’s draw with Slovenia in a World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Liverpool also had Jeremie Frimpong on the sidelines before the international break. Frimpong suffered a muscle injury in the season opener against Bournemouth and has missed the last two matches, but there will be optimism that the right-back could return to the squad to face Burnley.
Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konate emerged as potential injury scares for Liverpool after the win over Arsenal last week. The pair have since featured for their respective countries in recent days, though, which has eased fears for Reds supporters.
For Burnley, manager Scott Parker will have several fitness concerns to manage when Premier League football returns next week. A total of six players missed their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United before the international break and it remains to be seen if any will return.
Axel Tuanzebe, Armando Broja, Bashir Humphreys, Connor Roberts, Jordan Bayer and Zeki Amdouni were all absent for the defeat at Old Trafford, and Park will be expected to provide an update next week on their potential availability.
