Andre Onana is reportedly closing in on a move away from Manchester United.
Onana has been heavily linked with a transfer that would see his time at Old Trafford come to an end for the time being, even though the summer transfer window has closed. However, the transfer window remains open in Turkey until September 12 (Friday), and it seems that the goalkeeper is set to complete a switch to the Super Lig in the coming days.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Onana has agreed to join Trabzonspor on a loan deal until the end of the season, with United and the Turkish club close to giving the green light for the move to take place.
The report claims that Onana is getting ready to travel to Turkey to undergo a medical to become a Trabzonspor player, with the Super Lig outfit not expected to have the option to make the move permanent next summer.
Onana’s future has become increasingly uncertain after United decided to sign Senne Lammens on deadline day. The Reds completed a deal worth an initial £18.2 million for the shot-stopper from Royal Antwerp, a move which, in turn, is seemingly allowing Onana to leave Old Trafford this month.
If a move does go through, Onana’s last appearance for United this season could be the defeat to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round last month. The former Inter Milan star is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, with the defeat in the cup Onana’s only appearance of the campaign so far.
