Newcastle United fans are set to get their first glimpse of club record signing Nick Woltemade in black-and-white stripes when the Magpies face Wolves in next Saturday’s Premier League clash at St James’ Park.
The £65m signing from Stuttgart arrived too late to be involved in the goalless draw with Leeds United before the international break, and instead had to watch a frustrating game from the Elland Road stands.
However, he will join fellow new boy Yoane Wissa in Eddie Howe’s squad when the Premier League action resumes next week, with 52,000 inside St James’ Park excited to see what he can produce.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
However, fans don’t have to wait that long to see Woltemade in action, with Germany facing Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier tonight.
After their shock 2-0 defeat to Slovakia on Thursday, Julian Nagelsmann’s side take on Northern Ireland in Cologne this evening, expecting to get their first points of qualification.
They currently sit bottom of Group A, athough unlike England, have only played one match so far. Woltemade started against Slovakia and could again lead the line for the Germans against Michael O’Neill’s side, although Nagelsmann has hinted at some changes. Here’s all you need to know.

What the managers have said
MICHAEL O’NEILL, NORTHERN IRELAND
“I would imagine the German national team always plays with pressure because the expectation is so high and these players are used to dealing with that. The coach has coached at a very high level so he would be used to dealing with that as well,” he said.
“I think sometimes when you play for your national team, criticism can be a little more personal than when you play for your club. That brings added pressure because everyone wants to do well for their national team and their families.
“I haven’t read any of it, but the criticism Germany had… if they need extra motivation they will get it from that.”
JULIAN NAGELSMANN, GERMANY
“We’ve had several discussions with individual players and with the team. The team have also spoken among themselves and clarified some things.
“We won’t see a completely changed team. There will certainly be some changes in terms of personnel, but not all ten players will be rotated. We have to deliver a better performance than we did on Thursday,”
