Bat flip? Perhaps Morgan Wallen’s rendition was more like a bat flop.
The country icon was in Toronto for a concert Friday night at the Rogers Centre, the second of two sold out Toronto shows. He was joined as he walked out onto the stage by Toronto Blue Jays legend Jose Bautista.
As he walked towards the stage, Wallen took a bat from Bautista and proceeded to mimic his legendary bat flip.
The scene was shown to the crowd, who cheered as Wallen did his best Bautista impression.
Wallen’s move was a great moment for the crowd in Toronto, especially considering that he was standing right beside Bautista himself.
The problem? Wallen’s bat flip accidentally struck Bautista’s wife.
Thankfully, Jose’s wife, Neisha Bautista was okay.
“Yeah yeah, I’m good,” she said at the end of the clip.
The rest of Wallen’s back-to-back performances at the Rogers Centre in Toronto seemed to proceed without incident.
He even walked out at one point during the show wearing a Roy Halladay jersey, and ode to the pitcher who passed away in 2017 due to a plane crash.
Wallen’s ode to Halladay was applauded by Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman.
Mad respect to @MorganWallen for wearing a Roy Halladay jersey for his concert in Rogers Centre! Real recognize real! #GeauxBlueJays 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Gausman gave Wallen the shoutout just hours after a remarkable performance for the Blue Jays, where he allowed one run and four hits over eight innings, helping Toronto defeat the New York Yankees 7-1.
Both Gausman and Halladay were raised in Colorado. Gausman even switched his jersey number from #32 to #34 in 2018 after Halladay had passed away.
As for Wallen, he has just one more stop on his “I’m The Problem” tour, which has spanned across 10 cities. The last stop of the tour is in Edmonton, with two concert dates on September 12 and 13.
