Several homes in Toronto’s East York area have been evacuated after a fire broke out at a house on Yardley Avenue late Monday afternoon.
Police said they were called to the Topham Park neighbourhood, north of St. Clair and west of Victoria Park avenues, just before 6 p.m. for reports of a house fire.
Toronto fire crews are now on scene working to douse the two-alarm fire.
In a post on social media, Toronto police said the fire has spread to surrounding homes and “all surrounding houses have been evacuated.”
No injuries have been reported.
Police are advising drivers of delays in the area and are urging them to use alternate routes.
Yardley is currently closed between Victoria Park and Barron Avenue..
