A local man and company have both appeared on the latest tax defaulters list from Revenue.

Included on the list are people from across the country found to have committed offences such as the failure to lodge income tax returns, misuse of marked mineral oil or the smuggling of illegal tobacco.

RJB Civils Limited, a groundworks operator, located in Lanesborough under-declared corporation tax and PAYE/ PRSI.

For this, the company paid Revenue Commissioners €197,239.

John Meares of Curryroe, Drum in county Roscommon received a fine totalling €123,993 for under-declaration of income tax.

Revenue’s latest list is in respect of the period 1 April to 30 June of this year.

The list is published in two parts.

Part one refers to those whose case the court has determined penalty to a settlement or has imposed a fine.

While part two refers to people in whose case Revenue has accepted a settlement instead of initiating court proceedings or a settlement has been paid in full.
