Another 17-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with a shooting outside of a Toronto high school this month, Toronto police say.
The shooting happened right before noon on Sept. 3 in the area of Keele Street and Donald Avenue, where police allege two groups of people exchanged gunfire.
A 31-year-old woman, who was driving in the area at the time, was struck by gunfire, police say.
A second victim, a 17-year-old boy, also sustained a gunshot wound, and both were taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
On Sept. 5, police say they arrested that teen, and charged him with various offences, including attempted murder, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Authorities say that a person arrested at the scene was later released.
Days later, on Wednesday, police say they charged another teenage suspect in connection with the gunfight. The 17-year-old is facing various charges, including attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Both suspects cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The charges have not been tested in court.
Police are asking anyone with additional information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
