Security footage released by police shows a suspect using an axe to break into a home in Vaughan at around 2:30 a.m. this morning.
Police in York Region have released video of a home invasion in Vaughan on Wednesday involving four suspects, one of whom was armed with an axe.
It happened in the area of Timber Creek Boulevard and Major Mackenzie Drive West around 2:30 a.m.
In the video, one suspect walks towards the front door and starts hitting the glass side panel with his axe.
After breaking glass, the suspect puts his arm through the hole to open the front door. He and three other suspects enter the home.
The video then jumps to when all four run out of the residence to a waiting black SUV and drive away.
Police said the suspects demanded property from the occupants during the incident but were unsuccessful.
No one was physically injured during the home invasion, police said.
Police also released limited descriptions of all four male suspects.
The suspect carrying the axe was wearing black clothing with a white T-shirt under a hoodie and a black mask. The second suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, white shoes, a black mask and black and white gloves.

The third suspect had on a grey and navy hoodie, navy pants with a white stripe down each side, a white mask, black gloves and white shoes, and the fourth suspect, who was armed with an expandable baton, was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and white gloves.
