Penrith have taken action after winger Brian To’o disgraced himself on social media during the club’s best-and-fairest event on Tuesday night.

In a bizarre attempt at humour, the NRL star decided to make X-rated comments about the partners of his teammates to his 345,000 followers.

The comments were made in To’o’s Instagram story and have since expired.

Nathan Cleary — who won the top award (the Merv Cartwright Medal) on the night — was one of the people mentioned, with his superstar partner Mary Fowler dragged into it.

To’o shared a picture of Cleary accepting the award and wrote the words “Fowler smasher”.

The 27-year-old also accompanied his lewd comment with a love heart and a goat emoji.

To’o also made a similar comment about Scott Sorensen’s wife Elle, calling Sorensen an “Elle Smasher” and repeated the dose for Matt Eisenhuth’s wife Holly (“Holly destroyer”).

The gloss also came off Tom Jenkins’ two awards (the John Farragher Award for Courage and Determination as well as the MKJ Projects Members Player of the Year) when To’o mentioned his partner, Jess (“Jess wrecker”).

Even NSW Cup Player of the Year Luke Sommerton’s partner, Keira, got the same treatment.

Fans were immediately shocked and disgusted by the comments.

“Gross,” one fan said while another called them “embarrassing”. Others said he showed no respect to the women.

According to reports, the club has spoken to To’o while the player is very sorry for his actions.

The Panthers have an elimination final against the Warriors on Saturday and it has been reported that To’o will still take his place in the team.

To’o made headlines in 2022 when he was captured on video singing about a sex act during his wedding ceremony.

To’o has endured a season of injury frustration this year, restricted to only 13 games by hamstring and knee complaints.

He has been rested from the Panthers’ past two games and returns fresh for Saturday’s elimination final against the Warriors.

He recently said he was eager for the chance to face former teammate James Fisher-Harris, who became the Warriors’ co-captain this season after four premiership wins at Penrith.

The elimination final will be To’o’s first match against the New Zealand international, with fixturing at the 2022 World Cup sparing To’o and Samoa from facing the Kiwis.

“I’m looking forward to coming up against Fish,” he said.

“It might be my second or first carry to go at him. We’ll just see how we go.”

He said the year had been a “massive rollercoaster” and his body was in desperate need of a rest.

“The body’s screaming, ‘That’s enough, no more’, but I’m still fuming, I still want those tough carries,” he said.

“I’m that guy that everyone wants to look to to send them to the wolves. That’s me.

“I’ll still keep taking those hard carries whether I’m injured or not.”
