Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo has lifted the lid on the decision to bring Toby Sexton back into the side for Friday night’s qualifying final.
The halfback was axed two months ago, but has earned a recall and will come off the bench, replacing hooker Reed Mahoney in the 17 to play the Storm.
“You could say so much about him, he’s had the right team-first attitude the whole year and he clearly would have been disappointed,” Ciraldo told Nine pre-game.
“He went back to NSW Cup and worked on his game, tried out a new position and that versatility has forced his way into the team tonight.”

The other inclusions for the Dogs will see winger Jacob Kiraz and forward Harry Hayes both return earlier than anticipated from injury.
“The medical team has done a great job on those two boys,” Ciraldo said.
Hayes will come off the bench, while Kiraz slots into his usual role out wide in place of Blake Wilson.
