Liverpool are set to carry on their Premier League campaign on Sunday with a trip to Turf Moor.
Scott Parker’s Burnley will be hoping to cause an upset against the reigning Premier League champions, but with the quality that the Reds have shown this season, that feels rather unlikely.
Arne Slot’s men have won all three of their opening Premier League games and, even though some moments felt like everything was falling apart, Liverpool ended up with all the points.
There’s been a lot of change among Liverpool’s first-team squad this season, and now that Alexander Isak has officially joined, there’s even more expectation upon the players’ shoulders.

However, the Anfield outfit’s game against Burnley on Sunday should be a walk in the park, or so their fans will hope.
Alan Shearer believes Alexander Isak will only get 10 to 15 minutes of playing time for Liverpool
Although Isak’s stance of refusing to play for Newcastle this season got him his move, it’s meant that he’s nowhere near as fit as he needs to be.
The striker has only featured in one competitive game of football since the end of last season, and even that was only an 18-minute cameo in Sweden’s 2-0 defeat to Kosovo.
And, while he’s looked to be in top form in the training clips that Liverpool have released, it’s clear that he still needs time before he can become a regular starter at his new club.
These are also the exact thoughts of Alan Shearer, who, while speaking to The Metro, said that he believes Isak will only be given 10-15 minutes of playing time on Sunday.
“I can only see a Liverpool win, to be honest. With the games they’ve had so far. They’ve not been great performances, but they have been great results. I’ll go for an away win,” he said.
“I think Isak will be on the bench. I’m pretty sure he won’t start the game, but you may see him for 10 or 15 minutes, and that may be the case for a couple of weeks.”
Liverpool must carry on their Premier League winning streak
Now that the 2025-26 season is really set to get underway, things are going to get a lot more intense for Liverpool.
They’ll soon be playing two games per week with plenty of international travel set to take place.
In reality, the Reds should cruise through the Champions League group stage like they did last season, but since they’re set to face the likes of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, it’ll certainly be a big test for them.
And, even though the Champions League is likely to be their main priority this term, if the Anfield outfit can carry on their Premier League winning streak, they’ll go into their cup games with much more confidence.

Although these games will likely put a lot of strain on the players since there are a lot of new faces among the Liverpool camp, it’ll likely help Slot’s first-team squad develop relationships much quicker.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with the way things have panned out thus far, Sunday’s Premier League clash against Burnley should be a breeze.
