A cyclist has critical injuries following a crash in southwest Calgary on Friday afternoon.
Police say the crash between a vehicle and a bike happened around 3:40 p.m. near Stoney Trail SW at 17 Avenue SW.
The cyclist sustained critical injuries in the crash, according to police.
As a result, 17 Avenue SW is closed in both directions across Stoney Trail, including all off-ramps. Officials have also shut down all access points to 17 Avenue over Stoney Trail, and additional road closures may be put in place as the investigation continues.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and expect significant delays.
