The Panthers’ title defence continues, after the four-time premiers pulled-off a 24-8 victory against the Warriors in Auckland.

That’s season over for the Warriors, who, after a promising start to the year, slipped out of the top four and just weren’t good enough to keep up with the Panthers after losing Wayde Egan and Tanah Boyd to HIAs during the second half.

The New Zealanders gave Penrith a run for their money in the first half, with the difference just four points at the break with the only try of the first half going to Isaiah Papali’i.

But despite Leka Halasima keeping the Warriors in the game with a try in the 52nd minute, back-to-back tries for Casey McLean and Brian To’o sealed another finals win for the Panthers.

The Panthers will now face the Bulldogs in a semi-final at Accor Stadium next week, with the winner of that match to face the winner of the Raiders and Broncos clash tomorrow afternoon.
