The Bulldogs have suffered a triple blow with injuries to Stephen Crichton, Enari Tuala and Viliame Kiaku worse that initially thought.

Foxsports.com.au understands Crichton is awaiting the results of scans, but looks set to be ruled out for the season with a syndesmosis injury.

Kikau, meanwhile, is feared to have a fractured eye-socket from an early stray elbow, despite coming back on and finishing the game.

And Tuala’s season could be over with his calf injury feared to be a suspected broken leg.

Crichton’s loss sparked a major reshuffle for the Bulldogs, with the gun centre reeling out of a tackle in visible pain during the first half of their loss to the Storm.

Dogs coach Cameron Ciraldo didn’t hold much hope the skipper will be back on the field this season.

“It’s hard to know now without getting scans but when you can’t finish a game it’s not looking great,” Ciraldo said.

Crichton bravely battled on for several sets, but the injury continued to hamper his movement before he was replaced by bench utility Toby Sexton — who remarkably scored straight after.

“It’s actually a really yuck feeling, his leadership and the weight he carries in that side he wanted to show he could still get around,” veteran playmaker Shaun Johnson said post-match.

“But it’s so hard to carry on, every time you put pressure through that foot, it feels like you’re getting gapping in your foot and you can’t push off it.

“It’s not a nice feeling… a finals series without him in it is just not as good, it’s simple.”

Crichton was spotted in the changerooms testing his injury with club staff, but was unable to return to the field.

He is expected to be rubbed for the remainder of the season and potentially the Pacific Championships for Samoa.
