A man in his 20s has been killed after a late-night road collision in County Carlow.

He was killed whilst cycling, and was involved in a collision with a car on the N80 at Kilmeany.

The incident occurred at approximately 11pm last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was transferred to Waterford University Hospital, where a post-mortem will take place in due course.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the fatal crash to contact them.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10:45pm and 11:10pm on Friday 12th September 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” they said in a statement.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 9136620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
