The Montreal Canadiens youngsters are set to host the Winnipeg Jets at the Bell Centre, with the puck drop scheduled for 7 pm ET.
This is not your typical game, as we’re yet to know exactly which Canadiens prospects will take part in Saturday’s matchup, seeing as the Habs opted not to have any pre-game availability with the media. Regardless of which players do end up participating, the Prospect Showdown, which also includes the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators, will serve as a launching pad for some who are aiming to earn a roster spot once the regular season begins on October 8.
The Habs invited 26 players to their rookie camp, headlined by the highly-skilled Ivan Demidov. It’s almost certain that Demidov will start the season in the NHL, which means he may be facing less pressure than others in terms of his standing within the organization, but given that he’s one of the most hyped prospects in recent team history, fans will look to him to lead the way in the 2025 Prospect Showdown.

The Habs will have forward Luke Tuch serve as the captain on Saturday, with Adam Engstrom and Owen Beck acting as the alternates.
