American Terence Crawford has produced a stunning upset win over Canelo Alvarez in a bout labelled ‘the fight of the century’.

The undefeated Crawford improves his record to 42-0 and becomes the first male boxer to every become an undisputed champion in three different categories.
“We know what we just saw. Bud Crawford just beat Canelo Alvarez. Let’s see if the judges agree,” boxing commentator Max Kellerman said immediately following the fight’s conclusion
After previously claiming all four belts on offer at the super lightweight and welterweight divisions, Crawford collected the super middleweight world title after defeating Alvarez by unanimous decision in a fight that went the distance.
All three judges awarded the fight to Crawford with the scores 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113.
If anything those cards were generous to Canelo.
“Canelo is a great champion. I have nothing but respect for him. I’m a big fan of him and he fought a great fight tonight,” Crawford said in the ring post-fight.
“Congratulations. You are the GOAT of this era,” Kellerman told Crawford.
“I’m a winner for coming here. There’s no defeat here,” Alvarez said in his post-fight interview.
Much like the result, the reaction to the win was unanimous, with many experts lauding Crawford’s greatness and legacy in the sport.
