Awards season may have officially already begun with a couple of film festivals last month, but it feels like things don’t really kick into gear until the Emmys take place.Â
The Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony brings together the best and the brightest of the US television industry.Â
And it’s the first major red carpet event of the season.
Here are some of the looks we’ve seen so far:
At first glance it looks like Lisa’s dress is made entirely out of My Little Pony tails, but then you see that’s just foolish — it’s actually made from fairy floss ribbons. ( AP: Invision/Richard Shotwell)
Sarah Bock in the perfect outfit for appearing to someone in their dreams to tell them not to lose faith in themselves. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
Does Aliyah Mastin’s dress really need to have those silky leaf-like details coming out of each button hole when each one was probably really, really fiddly to make? I would argue yes — it was absolutely worth the effort. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
Andrew Matarazzo demonstrating that you don’t need a button-up shirt and a waistcoat to wear a suit. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
Megan Stalter holding a bag that reads “ceasefire!”, with her Instagram story pointing followers to an artists4ceasefire post raising awareness about the starvation crisis in Gaza. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
Kathy Bates looking like she’s about to play the role of a glamorous but tough-as-nails judge on an intergalactic court of justice. (AP: Invision/Richard Shotwell)
Based purely on the horns of this dress, I would say Krys Marshall is either a Capricorn, an Aries or a Taurus. (AP: Jae C. Hong)
A bunch of tutus stuck together may not be the comfiest choice of shawl, but I suspect Australian director Shannon Murphy’s choice is more about the drama tulle brings rather than the comfort it most certainly does not provide. (AP: Invision/Richard Shotwell)
Walton Goggins could have buttoned his shirt all the way up and worn a tie, but then he probably wouldn’t be Walter Goggins. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
I feel like the designer of Australian actor Shabana Azeez’s suitably dramatic dress was inspired by the red curtains at a theatre and may have been listening to 80s power ballads when they were sewing it. (AP: Jae C. Hong)
Australian actor Dichen Lachman’s dress giving the impression it isn’t actually a dress at all, but a benevolent conglomerate of golden stardust that converges around someone who has just committed an act of heroism. (AP: Invision/Jordan Strauss)
Don’t worry. There will be plenty more looks to come.Â
