At 15 years old Cooper is officially the youngest Emmy winner to take Lead Actor in a Drama

The young teen delivers a very humble speech.

“When I started these drama classes a couple years back I didn’t expect to even be in the United States let alone here.

But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone you can achieve anything.”

He also hilariously says “I was nothing three years ago” which is kind of expected for a 13-year-old?

He rounds off by thanking Adolescence cast and crew.

This one’s for the Andor fans!

Because we know there are many, many of you out there.

And so does writer Dan Gilroy; his first acknowledgement is for the show’s loving fans:

“I want to thank the fans who did more than watch the show; they listened, they cared, they made a story about ordinary people fighting impossible odds, possible.”

Owen Cooper could make history as the youngest Emmys winner

When is Owen’s award up for Adolescence? Best television all decade, so thought provoking and timely.

– Steph

Hey Steph!

Considering Owen Cooper could very well become the Emmys’ youngest-ever winner for his performance in Adolescence, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have shuffled that award closer to the end of the night as it’ll be a huge moment.

We’ll post the winner as soon as we know, and I have my fingers crossed for him!

Slow Horses sneaks in

Another surprise to see AppleTV+ thriller Slow Horses grab Best Direction over splashier nominees like Mike White and Ben Stiller but that’s the Emmys, baby!

Described by our critics as “the perfect show to watch with your dad“, the British series follows a group of washed-up spies who’ve been relegated to Slough House, a backwater of MI5 led by the slobbish yet three-steps-ahead Jackson Lamb.

Slow Horses might not have the biggest fanbase but it is very loyal. They have two more chances to pick up gold today, including in Best Drama!

Here’s who you’re rooting for

Rooting for Noah Wyle for not only his acting chops, but his contribution to the magnificence that was The Pitt. – Audrey P

I quite enjoyed Severance and was very happy to see Tramell Tillman get a win – but I’m here for Andor all the way. Holding my breath hoping for a win! – Luke

Both Andor and Severance deserve best tv show. Andor is so relevant politically to where we are now. But severance is just so good! I’m glad they won more then just an Emmy for the title screen this year! – Nicholas

Hiller upsets the Emmys

Harrison ford deserved the win! 🙁

– Nicholas

I don’t think you’d be the only one thinking that, Nicholas!

Supporting Actor in a Comedy was an incredibly competitive category this year, including the first Emmy nomination for cinema legend Harrison Ford.

But instead of seeing this as a snub, I urge you to consider it a reflection on the supreme work Hiller did in Somebody Somewhere, and the show as a whole.

Hiller hit the nail on the head saying that the community, kindness and compassion in Somebody Somewhere is, frankly, an incredible gem to find on TV nowadays and I would encourage anyone that needs a little pick-me-up to check it out!

Get a little taste of its wonder below.

Second win for Seth Rogan

Not bad for someone who started the night with zero Emmys!

He shares Best Direction in a comedy with his longtime creative partner Evan Goldberg who joined Rogan on stage to celebrate the win.

LOSING MY FREAKING MIND RIGHT NOW; THE UNDERDOG WON!!!!

“For the past 25 years I’ve been like ‘world I want to be an actor’ and the world has been like, ‘maybe computers’.

“Thank you to HBO for putting a show about sweaty middle-aged people on the same network as the sexy teens from Euphoria.”

Hiller also thanked the Somebody Somewhere creators for “Writing a show about compassion and love at a time where those things are seen as a weakness”.

Hiller’s crying, I’m crying – this is what the Emmys are about!!!

We have an Andor fan here

Andor deserves the win for drama. Many of the nominees are right up there, but that’s a special show that speaks to our times in a way few come close to

– Mat

Crossing my fingers for you, Mat! But I think this is a fight between Severance and The Pitt.
