A home previously owned by Sydney rapper and alleged organised crime figure Ali Younes has been shot at in a drive-by shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The property, on Harris Street in Merrylands, was sprayed with several bullets by a gunman just after 1am, police said.

Three people, two women aged 22 and 40 and a 15-year-old boy, were not injured in the attack.

“Detectives have spoken with the occupants and they are helping with our enquiries,” Inspector Ricki Lindner told reporters on Sunday.

“It’s brazen, its dangerous behaviour, its putting the community at risk, its behaviour we won’t tolerate.”

Mr Younes, who performs as “Ay Huncho”, was released on bail a month ago in relation to offences police allege link him to the Alameddine crime family.

The Alameddines, who police have attributed a number of gangland shootings to over the past few years, operate an organised crime network in Western Sydney.

Recently, NSW Police set up Taskforce Falcon to investigate a wave of public violence police believe is connected to an internal feud inside the Alameddine network.

Inspector Lindner said Taskforce Falcon was “forming part of the investigation” into the shooting.

It is the second time Mr Younes and his associates have been targeted as tensions in Sydney’s underworld turned violent in recent months.

Police allege a 15-year-old and a 22-year-old man stormed the home of Mr Younes’ bodyguard in Guildford on June 24 and stabbed the man’s father.
