North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said it responded to reports of bomb threats aboard three commercial flights at Calgary International Airport, shortly after 2 p.m. Monday.

In an emailed response, NORAD confirmed the three planes from Germany were able to land without incident at the airport after “the threats were determined to be not credible.”

Out of an abundance of caution, NORAD said CF-18 aircraft, F-15 fighter aircraft and supporting aerial refuelling aircraft were deployed after Canadian authorities received the reports.

The Calgary Police Service confirmed it was called to the airport earlier this afternoon and all passengers disembarked the aircraft safely.

Police are on scene investigating the incident and confirm there is no risk to public safety.

In an earlier statement to CBC News, Calgary Airports said there were minimal impacts to airport operations during the incident.
