IDF spokesman Brigadier General Efi Defrin said that “Hamas has established the largest human shield in history in Gaza. It exploits the population and prevents residents from evacuating the city by using severe violence. The IDF is allowing the population to evacuate and estimates that more than 350,000 residents have evacuated so far. As part of the operational plan, we have adapted humanitarian efforts in accordance with international law. There will be no situation of starvation in the Gaza Strip. Aid will also be delivered to the northern Gaza Strip.”
