Three people have been arrested after police say shots were fired at multiple residences in Brampton earlier this summer.
According to Peel police, officers were called to Rolling Acres Drive in Brampton on both July 10 and 11 for reports of shots being fired at homes in the area.
No injuries were reported and police said the suspects were seen fleeing in a black Chrysler 300. The vehicle, police said, was recovered in Winnipeg on July 13.
“Following an extensive investigation, three individuals have been arrested and charged,” Peel police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Police said 20-year-old Husandeep Singh, of Mississauga, was arrested on July 27 in connection with the investigation.
Members of the Peel Regional Police Service travelled to Winnipeg and arrested Gurpreet Singh, 23, on Aug. 26, police noted.
On Sept. 12, Peel police also travelled to Surrey, B.C. and arrested Gurdeep Shergill, a 26-year-old man from Delta, B.C.
All three men have been charged with extortion and discharging a firearm with intent.
The suspects were held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
