ShareGOAL! Juventus 4-4 Borussia Dortmund (Kelly 90+6)
Yep, the Champions League is back. Utter nonsense in Turin, where Lloyd Kelly has headed a dramatic equaliser from Dusan Vlahovic’s cross. There will be a check for offside but I think he’s okay.
It’s the eighth goal of the second half.

Surely not. The substitute Dusan Vlahovic has scored his second goal for Juventus, who have two added minutes to find an improbable equaliser.

79 min: Penalty to Madrid Hmm, not sure about this. Vinicius Jr’s poked shot is blocked by the sliding Medina, with the ball then ricocheting against his left arm. The referee pointed straight to the spot and it looks like the decision will stand.
77 min: Real Madrid 1-1 Marseille Madrid are still pushing for a win, as is their wont, and with Vinicius, Mbappe and friends on the field they have every chance, even with 10 men.
These are the latesat scores.
ShareGOAL! Juventus 2-3 Borussia Dortmund (Couto 75)
While Carvajal was awaiting his punishment, Yan Couto put Dortmund ahead in Turin. Michele Di Gregorio probably shouldn’t have been beaten at his near post, but he was and Dortmund are in front for the third time.

Dani Carvajal sent off!
71 min He started the game on the bench and will finish it in the bath. Real can, or at least should, have no complaints.
69 min: Real Madrid 1-1 Marseille Dani Carvajal is in trouble here. He moved his head into the face of Rulli, who has gone down holding his face. Carvajal barely touched Rulli, but there was a forward motion with his head so it counts as violent conduct in 2025.
There’s an ongoing VAR check.

GOAL! Juventus 1-2 Dortmund (Nmecha 65)
Dortmund retake the lead straight from the kick off. Felix Nmecha, teed up by Adeyemi, flashed a curling shot into the net from the edge of the D. Not quite as good as Yildiz’s goal but still a fine strike.

Rulli denies Mastantuono, his tenth and final save of a frantic first half.
It’s half time in all four 8pm games. Benfica and Spurs lead against Qarabag FK and Villarreal respectively. Real Madrid, despite a gazillion shots, and Juventus are being held by Marseille and Dortmund.
Half time: Juventus 0-0 Dortmund
I’ve been focussing on the Madrid game so haven’t seen much of this. The old xG (0.74-0.04 according to one algorithm) suggests a relatively dull half.
39 min: Real Madrid 1-1 Marseille Real are almost cauhgt out by a long ball from the keeper Rulli. It bounces off Eder Militao to Aubayemang, who runs into the area and belts a shot just wide. He probably should have scored.
Fun game, this.
33 min: Real Madrid 1-1 Marseille
This is turning into a good game. Madrid continue to create chances at will – Rulli has just tipped over Tchouameni’s long-range sizzler over the bar – but Marseille, particularly Greenwood, are looking a real threat in transition.
That Tchouameni shot was Real’s ninth on target in the first 33 minutes.
