An elderly couple who were absolutely devoted to each other died by suicide at their Kerry home after one had been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.
A Kerry coroner’s inquest in Tralee heard that Tony and Phyllis Gilbert were found dead in their Kenmare home in November 2021 after a relative notified gardaí when she found a note pinned to their door advising that they were no longer alive.
