Chrystia Freeland is leaving her cabinet post as transport and internal trade minister to become Canada’s new special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said Tuesday he asked her to take on the role because she’s “uniquely positioned” for it, given her work as a former minister of finance, foreign affairs and international trade.
