Two people have been arrested after authorities found six children, including a 2-month-old, locked inside a Milwaukee storage unit.
The Milwaukee Police Department said in a Tuesday statement that they found the six kids, whose ages range from 2 months old to 9 years old, early Tuesday morning.
The children did not appear to have injuries, a department spokesperson said. It is unclear how long they were locked in the storage unit.

Police added that a 26-year-old female and a 33-year-old male were taken into custody in connection with what they described as an “abuse/neglect incident.” It is unclear if the children are related to the two adults arrested or to each other.
The department did not name the two individuals detained, and said in an email that it would not do so until criminal charges have been issued. Criminal charges for the two adults have not been issued as of Wednesday morning, according to police.
The department said that charges will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, and that no other information is available at this time.
The district attorney’s office did not immediately return a request for comment.
