Police say they have arrested a man accused of breaking into a residence in Toronto’s west end and sexually assaulting a woman who was sleeping in her bed.
The incident, Toronto police say, occurred early in the morning on Nov. 6, 2022, at a residence near Ossington Avenue and College Street.
According to police, officers were called to the home at around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a break and enter.
They discovered a woman was asleep in her bed when a suspect forced entry into her residence and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene, police said.
On Sept. 16, 2025, a suspect was arrested in connection with the case.
Police said 40-year-old Jose Galvez Espinoza, of Montreal, has been charged with breaking and entering and sexual assault. The charges have not been tested in court.
