The 1997 action horror film “Anaconda” is getting a reboot.
A new trailer was released for “Anaconda,” starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, poking fun at the original film released nearly three decades ago. This new comedy horror version is set to be released by Sony Pictures on Christmas 2025.
The premise of the film follows a group of friends who are going through a midlife crisis. They decide to remake a favorite movie from their youth, but encounter unexpected events when they enter the jungle, according to IMDB. The film also stars Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn.
Rudd and Black confirmed the project last year and announced its Dec. 25 release date in a promotional video clip uploaded on YouTube, reported Variety.

‘Anaconda’ original starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube
The original ‘Anaconda’ movie was released in 1997 and featured several notable names, including Jon Voight, Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Owen Wilson. In the film, a National Geographic film crew is taken hostage by an insane hunter, who forces them along on his quest to capture the world’s largest and deadliest snake.
The movie grossed $65.9 million domestically, off a $16.6 million opening, and went on to make $136.9 million worldwide. The movie was an early box office win for Lopez and Cube, according to Deadline.
