YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Chair of the PA Democratic Party, Eugene DePasquale, stated that multiple police officers have been shot in North Codorus Township.

A number of officers shot was not given but WellSpan earlier confirmed to CBS 21 that it is treating two people in serious condition from the incident.

A helicopter and multiple fire police were called to the area of the 1800 block of Haar Road, according to an online dispatch records from York County.

A WellSpan representative told CBS 21:

Wellspan York Hospital is currently treating two individuals related to the police incident in North Codorus Township. Both are in serious condition. Enhanced security protocols are in place at the hospital. We will share more details as they become available.

No other details have been given regarding the injured individuals and if there have been any fatalities.

The Spring Grove School District posted to its website, saying that all district schools between K-12 had to shelter in place “due to an officer-involved incident” that is unrelated to students and staff.

The district said local authorities advised the district to hold all staff and students in the buildings as a precaution.

That shelter in place has since ended as of 4:10 p.m.

Ted Czech, the public information officer for York County, confirmed that a call initially came in around 2:10 p.m. for a police incident.

Governor Josh Shapiro released a statement online shortly after the incident saying he is on his way to the area, and “We ask those in the area to please follow the directions of local law enforcement and PA State Police.”

CBS 21 reached out to WellSpan Hospital in York and confirmed that the facility is on lockdown due to a “police shooting.”

CBS 21 has a crew at the scene and is expecting an update from emergency management soon.

Earlier, Attorney General Dave Sunday posted that he’s been briefed on the situation and is heading to the scene:

I am en route to the area and am praying for all involved.

Czech met with media at the scene but could not confirm the circumstances of the incident and, when asked if any officers were injured, he stated he could not disclose anything at the moment.

Pennsylvania State Police are handling the “evolving” investigation, Czech said.

This is a developing story. Stay with CBS 21 for updates.
