The Atesh guerrilla movement has claimed responsibility for sabotaging a railway junction near Yekaterinburg, warning that as a result “all military logistics of Russia are under threat.”
“Our agent carried out sabotage on the railway near Yekaterinburg, damaging relay equipment. This disrupted the movement of trains in all strategic directions,” the group said in a statement, accompanied by photos and videos that Kyiv Post could not independently verify.

According to Atesh, the junction was a key route for supplying ammunition, armored vehicles, fuel, and personnel to the front, as well as to factories and warehouses in Russia’s north and east.
“Now the military depots are idle, which is causing damage to the rear of the army. Atesh shows that we can strike at the heart of the military machine – and the enemy cannot feel safe anywhere,” the partisans said.
This marks the second reported act of sabotage by Atesh in the past four days. On Sunday, Sept. 14, the group reported an operation in the Adiz-Khablsky district.
“A relay cabinet was set on fire between the Sadovoy and Erken-Shahar stations, near the village of Sadovoy,” Atesh stated.
That railway line, according to the group, is used to transfer ammunition and military equipment from industrial enterprises in the North Caucasus to the Rostov region, and from there to the front in Ukraine.

Zapad 2025: Russia-Belarusian Military Drills Stoked Fears but Delivered Little Punch
Rather than being a show of force that would induce serious Western knee-trembling, Zapad, which ran from September 12-16, proved to be somewhat half-baked.
The sabotage disrupted train traffic, causing delays in the delivery of ammunition for MLRS and artillery, equipment undergoing repairs, and personnel rotations.
“Each strike creates a chain of disruptions – troops in the occupied territories receive fewer shells, replenishment and repairs are delayed, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces gain an advantage on the battlefield,” the group added.
As Kyiv Post reported last week, agents of the Atesh guerrilla movement carried out a sabotage operation in Tula, blowing up a communications tower near the Shcheglovsky Val JSC plant – a key hub of Russia’s military-industrial complex.
The plant produces Pantsir-S air defense systems, guided weapons, rapid-fire guns, and small arms. Its workshops also assemble Kornet anti-tank missiles, Pantsir combat vehicles, and prototypes of new military hardware, including the Kurganets infantry fighting vehicle, Boomerang armored personnel carrier, and Armata tank.
“Earlier, we had already conducted reconnaissance of this facility, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the plant. Now we are moving to more active actions and destroying the infrastructure of the enterprise – and this is just the beginning!” the guerrillas said in a Telegram statement.
