Two vans collided near Auckland Airport this evening.
A Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel reception worker told the Herald the “really bad” crash occurred just outside the hotel.
Fire trucks, ambulances and police attended.
He said, after reviewing CCTV, the crash happened about 6.30pm.
A person who witnessed the accident told the Herald the courier driver was “fine with a few minor scrapes”.
The other motorist had a “nasty gash on his head” and was knocked out before he came to, the witness said.
They said the driver’s head was “stuck down the passenger side footwell” when they found him.
Hato Hone St John told the Herald it responded with two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle.
One person was taken to hospital in a serious condition, while another was treated at the scene in a moderate condition.
