The Israeli military said a Houthi drone launched from Yemen fell near a hotel entrance in the southernmost Israeli city of Eilat on Thursday.
“Search and rescue teams are operating in the area where the report was received regarding the impact,” the IDF said.
According to the police, no one was wounded in the incident, and the surrounding area has been closed for public access as authorities probe the hit.

Sirens were sounded in the city before the drone hit.
An hour later, the IDF said that its air force intercepted another aircraft launched from Yemen.
In the following hours, a missile launched from Yemen towards Israel triggered sirens in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the West Bank and central Israel. The IDF said it also intercepted the missile.
On Tuesday, sirens sounded in Jerusalem and across central Israel after a missile was fired by Yemen’s Houthis toward Israel and ultimately intercepted.

The launch followed Israeli strikes on the port of Hodeidah on Yemen’s Red Sea coast several hours earlier. The military said its strikes in Hodeidah targeted a “military infrastructure site belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime.”
The Houthi movement uses the port “for the transfer of weapons supplied by the Iranian regime, in order to execute attacks against the State of Israel and its allies,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.

According to the IDF, “the strike was carried out in response to the repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel,” including the launch of drones and surface-to-surface missiles.”
Earlier in September, five people were lightly wounded when a drone launched from Yemen struck the arrivals hall in Ramon International Airport in southern Israel without triggering air raid sirens. Authorities temporarily shut down the airspace around the airport.
The IDF said an initial inquiry has determined that the drone was detected by the Israel Air Force but was not deemed hostile, adding that there were no indications of a technical malfunction.
