A Los Angeles home in the neighborhood where singer D4vd’s Tesla was left abandoned, before a decomposed body was found in the trunk, was searched on Wednesday night, law enforcement told NBC Los Angeles.
The search, according to law enforcement, is connected to the Tesla and death investigation of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
Four law enforcement sources told NBC News and NBC Los Angeles that the Hollywood Hills home was connected to the singer but did not provide additional details. Authorities were seeking several items, including digital devices that would have security recording or connect the teen to the location.
The vehicle was taken to Hollywood Tow after a person reported that it had been abandoned, NBC Los Angeles previously reported. Neighbors said the car had been parked for more than a month.
On Sept. 8, police were called to the impound lot for a report of a foul odor coming from the vehicle.
Decomposed remains, belonging to Rivas, were found in the trunk. Law enforcement sources said the remains were not intact. Rivas was reported missing last year from Lake Elsinore, California, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said the girl was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal chain bracelet and stud earrings when she was found. A cause of death has not yet been determined, and the case is being treated as a death investigation.
A spokesperson for D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, said last week that he had been informed about what happened and was “fully cooperating with authorities.”
