Eoin Hayes cut a forlorn political figure, sitting on the back benches of the Dáil chamber. No longer in the no man’s land of the far-back corner, between Danny Healy-Rae and the wall, he is now sitting behind the rest of the Social Democrats since being readmitted to the party.
But there was plenty of distance and little interaction with his party colleagues.
