Fourteen dogs have been seized from a property in West Donegal as part of an animal welfare investigation.
The dogs were found during a search conducted by Gardaí from Glenties Garda Station on Friday in response to concerns under the Animal Health & Welfare Act.
The dogs were being kept in shocking conditions, confined to rusted crates and living in their own filth.
Images from the rescue show the animals, which are all small breeds, in a severely dirty and ungroomed state.

Gardaí are currently working with the ISPCA on the matter.
A spokesperson said that all of the dogs are now receiving the necessary veterinary attention and will then be handed over to the care of the ISPCA.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda statement.
