Eurocontrol said in a statement that Brussels, Berlin, Dublin and London Heathrow airports have reported IT disruptions. There are currently no air traffic control restrictions in the European network, Eurocontrol said.
A spokesperson for the U.K.’s National Cyber Security Centre said the agency is working with Collins Aerospace, affected U.K. airports, the country’s transport ministry, and law enforcement to “fully understand” the incident’s impact.
Berlin Brandenburg airport also reported longer waiting times at check-in “due to a technical issue at a system provider operating across Europe.”
Dan Cimpean, director of Romania’s cyber agency, said the network of EU cyber response teams, known as CSIRTs, and the cyber crisis response group, EU-CyCLONe, are “actively monitoring” developments. However, the alert level of the two groups has not been raised, he said. There is no indication so far that Romania has been affected by the incident.
Airports advised passengers to check their flight status before coming to the airport.
