Just after being announced as part of Coachella’s 2026 lineup, Teen Vogue’s May/June cover stars KATSEYE took the stage at Teen Vogue Summit for a fun and intimate chat with Editor-in-Chief Versha Sharma. The members — Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae — also took the time to answer some questions from their beloved fans – affectionately known as EYEKONS – including sharing details on their upcoming tour, how they stay grounded, and what eyeliner they use.

The girl group sported variations of Gap jean outfits and were greeted by a crowd of screaming fans. Beyond the matching outfits, KATSEYE opened up about their friendships with one another and how living together at one point created their sisterhood. “We always get along, and if not, we always make it right,” Daniela said.

“When we come together, our friendship is such a mess,” Lara said. “It’s so chaotic, and we didn’t want to hide that… Our relationship and dynamic with each other is so special.”

Sophia also added how they’re “lucky that we’re not doing this alone” and that they “really are sisters.”

Coming off a viral Gap campaign, KATSEYE recalled seeing people recreate the dance from the ad in front of Gap storefronts. “It’s literally everywhere,” Yoonchae said.

Later in the discussion, Megan and Lara also spoke about the positive response to both of them coming out as queer, saying how “grateful” they are for the support. “I was definitely scared,” Megan said. “But everyone was so, so loving.”

Lara spoke about how important it was as a woman of color to come out in the K-Pop space. “It was necessary to share that,” she said. She said both she and Magan have had fans say they’ve also been able to come out to their own families since then.

On top of being pop icons who have performed at the VMAs and Lollapalooza, the group still makes time for TV. They said their favorite shows are The Summer I Turned Pretty and Sex and the City. At one point, the girls all started comparing themselves to Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda.

As for their first headlining tour, KATSEYE is excited to spend more “intimate” time with the EYEKONS, and teased something “new” that’s to come. With all the screaming fans, Manon also said the EYEKONS are “really respectful” when it comes to taking photos and seeing them in person.

When speaking to aspiring musicians and artists, the group all agreed that “to be cringe is to be free.”

Towards the end of the panel, all six members decided to teach the audience the hand gestures from their hit song “Gabriela.” But as diehard fans filled the crowd, most of them already knew it.

KATSEYE has had a whirlwind of a year. They released their second EP Beautiful Chaos, which included their hit song “Gnarly,” which landed them a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and viral sensation “Gabriela.” In the summer, the group headed to Lollapalooza, where they drew in a massive crowd and delivered a buzz-worthy performance. More recently, they performed for the VMAs red carpet show and took home the award for the MTV Push Performance of the Year category. The group is set to embark on their first ever tour later this year.
