A popular snack has been recalled after pieces of metal were found inside the health treat.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued the recall of Smooshed Wholefood and Protein Balls by Tasti Products Limited after the “presence of foreign matter”, later confirmed to be metal, was found inside their products.

The ACCC said a number of the products had been declared a safety hazard and the bits of metal may cause illness or injury if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” they said.

“Consumers should return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
