UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres addressed the war in Gaza, saying it represents “the most terrible level of killing and destruction I have seen during my time as Secretary-General, and perhaps in my entire life.” In an interview with French news agency AFP, he called on the world not to fear Israel and its threats to annex Judea and Samaria in case of recognition of a Palestinian state: “Whether we do it or not, these actions would continue. At least there’s a chance to mobilize the international community to pressure that they don’t happen.”
