A kindhearted Donegal business has offered to groom 14 neglected dogs that were seized near Glenties at the weekend.

The dogs were found during a search conducted by Gardaí from Glenties Garda Station on Friday in response to concerns under the Animal Health & Welfare Act.

The dogs were being kept in shocking conditions, confined to rusted crates and living in their own filth.

Images from the rescue show the animals, which are all small breeds, in a severely dirty and ungroomed state.

After reading the horrific story on Donegal Daily, Natasha Priestly of Pooch Perfect Luxury Dog Groomers in Buncrana stepped forward to help the dogs.

“We couldn’t help but notice that many of them appear to be in need of grooming,” she told Donegal Daily.

“To support their wellbeing and comfort, we would be more than happy to provide professional grooming services completely free of charge. Our goal is simply to help the dogs feel more comfortable and cared for during this difficult time”.

Ms Priestly has also contacted Gardaí about her kind offer.

Gardaí said yesterday they are working with the ISPCA on the matter and that their investigation is ongoing.
