EU foreign ministers are meeting in New York today on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly at the start of a week that looks set to be dominated by Israel’s war in Gaza. France and Saudi Arabia are co-hosting a conference on the two-state solution, with French President Emmanuel Macron set to announce that his country will recognize Palestinian statehood.
It comes as the UK, Australia and Canada formally recognized a Palestinian state yesterday, with EU countries like Belgium and Luxembourg following suit.
