Liverpool are ready to offer Ryan Gravenberch a new long-term deal after his impressive start to the campaign, according to a report from talkSPORT.

Gravenberch, who earns around £187,500-a-week at Anfield, has played a crucial role in Liverpool enjoying a perfect start to the campaign. The Dutch midfielder, described as world-class by international and Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk, currently has a deal which is set to expire in 2028, but the Reds might be considering rewarding him with a pay rise, considering his current form.

Liverpool opted against signing a new midfielder last summer, despite it looking like they desperately needed one, and that decision has already paid off. Gravenberch has slotted in seamlessly to the defensive midfield role, and he’s quickly become one of the best in the Premier League in that position.

According to talkSPORT, Liverpool are ready to reward Gravenberch with a new long-term contract to reflect his importance in Arne Slot’s side. The Dutch international joined the club from Bayern Munich for a fee of £35m, and he’s yet to sign a new deal since then. The Merseyside club are said to be in no urgent rush to extend his stay at Anfield, but they are hoping to reward him for his impressive displays since joining the club.

Extending Gravenberch’s contract will be a statement of intent from the Reds. They were incredibly busy in the summer transfer window, spending huge sums of money to strengthen their squad, but keeping their current crop at Anfield will be just as important.

There doesn’t appear to be any threat of Gravenberch wanting to leave, and it’s hardly a surprise considering he’s flourishing under Slot and playing every single week in the middle of the park. With Liverpool bringing in a host of new players on high wages, Gravenberch may, understandably, want to be paid in a similar bracket due to his importance to the team.

So far this season, Gravenberch has started five games in all competitions, scoring twice while providing two assists, despite playing in a deeper role. The Dutch international finished superbly from a Mohamed Salah pass against Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend, and he seems to be going from strength to strength.
